Peak
Bouldering Day: Flowing on rock - with optional
evening slideshow!
There are many fantastic bouldering options in
the Peak District from slab gems to crimpy walls,
arêtes and roofs. After meeting in a Peak
café at 9.30am we spend a full day bouldering
in at least two different areas, finishing at
about 4:30pm. Maximum ratio 1:5.
You would have the chance to try a wide range
of movement skills on a mixture of problems using
the friction and improving balance and timing
throughout the day. Flexibility is key so we can
make the most of the weather and find the best
problems for everyone. Bouldering offers the opportunity
for us to really help you perfect movement skills
with the use of video, info on bouldering tactics
and how to increase technique repertoire - all
skills are easily transferable to climbing routes.
A short slideshow about one of our expeditions
is available in the evening if you have nothing
to rush back for. You should have done some bouldering
before to come on this day.

a chimney. Spread the load with four points of
contact, or more, wherever possible. The efforts
of grovelling and squirming up a chimney can bring
unique rewards on making the top. Alternatively
enjoy the maximum-exposure feeling of pinnacle
climbing on a narrow column of rock to reach a
pointy summit, and experience the 360 degree panorama
at the top.
This type of outing is a particularly rewarding
for a special occasion - birthdays, anniversaries,
etc. This day can be run as part of a team challenge.
Larger groups can be catered for on demand, by
discussion of your requirements. Beginners groups
also welcome.
Who for? Ideally you should
be able to:
tie in and belay
Climb Severe standard or above and
be reasonably fit
Be prepared for a little discomfort
and an adventurous feel to the day

Suggestions on how to improve during
the day
CD of low resolution images from
the weekend (optional)
What is not included:
Transport to the crag or Peak café
meeting point, accommodation, your own equipment.
